This iconic sofa, designed in 1937, is inspired by the full lips of actress Mae West. Dal\u00ed admired Mae for her charismatic and playful appearance. The design originates from a gouache (painting) from 1935 titled \u2018Mae West&#8217;s Face which May be Used as a Surrealist Apartment\u2019, in which Dal\u00ed transformed Mae&#8217;s face into a surreal interior \u2013 her lips became a divan. The Mae West room is one of the most popular rooms in the Dal\u00ed Theater-Museum in Figueres.
