NEW .. Degas’ 14-year-old-dancer in 63 cm.

6 November 2025

The ballet dancer Marie van Goethem was 14 years old when she posed for Edgar Degas. The original (1881) in wax looked very lifelike because it was made with real hair and real shoes, which shocked quite a few people! In the end, this little dancer became Degas’ greatest success, but unfortunately only after he had passed away. Several bronze casts have been made, which are displayed in various museums around the world.

The different versions: ORDE02 ornament in window box – h. 9.8 cm, PA07DE miniature in gift box – h. 11 cm, DE03 – h. 16 cm, DE05 – h. 20 cm, DE10 – h. 36 cm, and NEW DE14 – h. 63 cm.
