NEW from Salvador Dalí: melting watch

17 December 2025

The painting ‘The Persistence of Memory’ is one of the most recognizable works of the surrealist Salvador Dalí.
The “soft” melting clocks symbolize the relativity and fluidity of time – time is not fixed, but can distort, especially in dreams or memory. Dalí himself said that he was inspired by a piece of Camembert that had melted in the sun.
Although the painting is small (about 24 × 33 cm), its surreal power has had a huge influence on art, design, and popular culture. The work is part of the collection of the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York City.
